About Aserbo
For the past three years, we have been welcoming holiday guests to one half of our home. Every summer, we enjoy having guests from all over the world come and experience the peace and nature that surround us.
Aserbo is an original farmhouse dating back to 1800. We live in the old barn ourselves, and both houses were renovated in the 1960s and again in 2020, when we took over the property.
The holiday cottage has its own private garden with a fire pit, a covered terrace and complete privacy. Guests also have access to the entire 5.5-hectare property, including the forest, cosy outdoor areas, lawns and the wonderful nature surrounding this geographically secluded property.

We have enjoyed the most wonderful week at Aserbo and can highly recommend it. Aserbo is beautifully decorated in a charming retro style, with plenty of character and cosy touches. The surroundings are absolutely fantastic too, with lots of little hidden gems to discover and explore.
We had some truly wonderful days in the cosiest little house, with a lovely garden and a huge property offering plenty of great activities for both young and old. A beautiful flower meadow right in the backyard and the water just a stone’s throw away. Lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds and great facilities overall.
The house is truly wonderful: beautiful and tastefully decorated in an authentic 1960s style. Everything was immaculate when we arrived, with thoughtful details such as fresh flowers picked from the garden. The interior and kitchen are both beautifully designed. Trine and Michael are exceptionally kind and caring hosts.
The Aserbo holiday cottage has been renovated with great respect for the original style of the house. Everything has been thoroughly renovated, including a brand-new bathroom. The house sleeps up to 6 guests, with the option of adding a cot for a child.
The house is designed to create a sense of calm and give our guests the opportunity to fully recharge. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a covered terrace with a barbecue area, as well as a private fire pit and garden where you can make memories with family and friends.
Our guests are also welcome to enjoy our large natural grounds, which include a fire pit in the woodland and plenty of cosy spots where you can sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Large trees and open lawns provide plenty of space for ball games, a yoga session or a picnic on a blanket.
We also have a large wood-fired outdoor hot tub, which you can enjoy for an additional fee. For stays of 6 nights or more, the hot tub is included. Otherwise, it costs DKK 450.
We are happy to help our guests with tips and advice on what to see and do in the area, including activities and experiences nearby.

Foraging by the water
Head out into nature and discover what’s growing right on your doorstep – and perhaps even find the ingredients for your evening meal.
We’ve teamed up with one of South Funen’s most experienced foragers, who will take you out into the beautiful nature around Aserbo to discover wild, seasonal ingredients. Afterwards, we’ll head back home, light the fire and prepare your finds together.
It’s a wonderful way to slow down, get close to nature and enjoy a meal you’ve found and prepared yourselves.

Boat trips in your own boat
Sydfyns Bådudlejning rents out boats from Svendborg Harbour. No boating licence is required, and there are boats in a range of sizes to suit different needs and experiences.
You can also rent SUP boards, bike trailers, electric bikes and regular bicycles.

Fishing trips with a nature guide
A unique opportunity to head out to the water with fishing rods and a packed lunch, accompanied by one of the most knowledgeable nature guides we know.
You’ll be shown some of the best fishing spots, learn different techniques and hear stories about the local nature and wildlife along the way. Afterwards, head back to Aserbo to prepare and enjoy the day’s catch together.

Find Aserbo
Aserbo is nestled in the heart of the beautiful South Funen countryside. Many of our guests head out to explore the nearby beaches, visit Svendborg – just a 12-minute drive along the coast – or take a trip to Odense, around 30 minutes from Åbyskov.
Others choose to stay close to home and simply enjoy the peace and quiet: take a swim at the end of the road, relax on the terrace in the sunshine or unwind in the outdoor hot tub beneath a dark, star-filled sky.
With so many wonderful experiences and activities nearby, Aserbo is the perfect base for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday with the whole family.
