About Aserbo
For the past three years, we have welcomed holiday guests to one half of our home. Every summer, we love having guests from all over the world come and enjoy the peace and nature that surround us.
Aserbo is an original Danish farmhouse dating back to 1800. We live in the old stable ourselves, while both houses were renovated in the 1960s and again in 2020, when we took over the property.
The holiday cottage has its own private garden with a fire pit, a covered terrace and complete privacy. Guests also have access to the entire 5.5-hectare property, including the woodland, cosy outdoor spaces, lawns and the wonderful nature surrounding this geographically secluded property.
The Aserbo holiday cottage has been lovingly renovated with respect for the original character and style of the house. Everything has been thoroughly refurbished, including a brand-new bathroom. The cottage sleeps up to six guests, with the option of adding a cot for a child.
The house is a place to slow down, find peace and fully recharge. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a covered terrace with a barbecue area, as well as a private fire pit and garden – perfect for making memories with family and friends.
Guests are also welcome to explore our large natural grounds, with a fire pit in the woodland and plenty of peaceful spots to sit back and enjoy the tranquillity.
The large trees and open lawns offer plenty of space for ball games, a yoga session or a picnic on a blanket.
We also have a large wood-fired outdoor hot tub, which you can enjoy for an additional fee. For stays of 6 nights or more, the hot tub is included. Otherwise, it costs DKK 450.
We’re always happy to share tips and local knowledge and help you discover the experiences and activities in the surrounding area.

The house
The house is 140 m² spread over two floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find a large, comfortable daybed with sleeping space for two, a cosy sofa area, a desk, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen in original 1960s style. There is also a TV and a speaker.
The bathroom has been completely renovated and features underfloor heating and a spacious, comfortable shower area.
Upstairs, there is a smaller bedroom with a three-quarter-size bed, a cosy reading nook with a view and a desk. There is also a spacious master bedroom with a double bed, sofa and desk. We have a travel cot for babies, which fits comfortably in this room.
The entire house is decorated in a personal and cosy style, with games in the drawers, candles, blankets and cushions – everything designed to encourage togetherness and relaxation.
The house is used exclusively for holiday rentals, so there are no personal belongings. Everything has been arranged with your comfort in mind, so you can feel at home, unwind and have everything you need.
Outside, you have your own covered terrace, barbecue area, sun loungers and private garden with a fire pit and several cosy spots to sit and relax.

Foraging by the water
Head out into nature and discover what’s growing right on your doorstep – and perhaps even find the ingredients for your evening meal.
We’ve teamed up with one of South Funen’s most experienced foragers, who will take you out into the beautiful nature around Aserbo to discover wild, seasonal ingredients. Afterwards, we’ll head back home, light the fire and prepare your finds together.
It’s a wonderful way to slow down, get close to nature and enjoy a meal you’ve found and prepared yourselves.

Boat trips in your own boat
Sydfyns Bådudlejning rents out boats from Svendborg Harbour. No boating licence is required, and there are boats in a range of sizes to suit different needs and experiences.
You can also rent SUP boards, bike trailers, electric bikes and regular bicycles.

Fishing trips with a nature guide
A unique opportunity to head out to the water with fishing rods and a packed lunch, accompanied by one of the most knowledgeable nature guides we know.
You’ll be shown some of the best fishing spots, learn different techniques and hear stories about the local nature and wildlife along the way. Afterwards, head back to Aserbo to prepare and enjoy the day’s catch together.
Find Aserbo
Aserbo is nestled in the heart of the beautiful South Funen countryside. Many of our guests head out to explore the nearby beaches, visit Svendborg – just a 12-minute drive along the coast – or take a trip to Odense, around 30 minutes from Åbyskov.
Others choose to stay close to home and simply enjoy the peace and quiet: take a swim at the end of the road, relax on the terrace in the sunshine or unwind in the outdoor hot tub beneath a dark, star-filled sky.
With so many wonderful experiences and activities nearby, Aserbo is the perfect base for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday with the whole family.
